The Party meeting 4/19

Our meeting will be in the usual time and place this week, Thursday at noon in room H.0850. This week's topic willbe U.S. relations with Iran.

Student Senate meeting Wednesday 4/18

The student senate will be voting (hopefully) to approve our constitution tomorrow (Wednesday) at 3:00 in room H.2500. There was a mixup last week so hopefully everything goes smoothly this time around. All are invited to attend.

The MCTC Student Senate will be voting to approve our constitution and to officially charter our club next Wednesday, April 11, at 3:00 P.M. in room H.2500. All are welcome to attend.

The Party will cosponsor the Center for Civic Engagement Block Party from April 24-26th. The film 50/50 will be screened and a discussion will follow.


John was ordained as Interim Minister of Information until Sara's availability can be ascertained.


Discussion Topic: “Should MCTC provide foot washing basins?” Or, “religious accommodation in America”.

Legalization of prostitution

Tuition/registration for undocumented migrants

Tax increases in MN

U.S. Attorney firings

Presidential campaign

Chosen Topic:

In-state tuition/automatic voter registration on driver's licenses for undocumented migrants.

And time permitting... Proposed state tax increases in MN.

Background article for next meeting

Here is an opinion piece I found from the LA Times about Congress' sparring with the President over the Iraq war. I think it provides some good background information for our discussion in two weeks and is more informative than partisan.
